Water Spots Video Contest

2013 Winners

The Water Spots Video Contest encouraged students in grades 9-12 to create 30-second public service announcement videos on checking sprinkler systems every month for water-wasting problems and making repairs within 48 hours. The Regional Water Authority and The Sacramento Bee are pleased to announce the winners as determined by our judges and the people who voted online for their favorite videos:

Water Spots Contest Winners
Raley Field, May 5, 2013


All of the winners and finalists saw their videos premiere on the Raley Field Jumbotron before the Sacramento River Cats game on May 5, 2013.

Thanks to our judges: Kathleen Dodge from the Tahoe Film Commission; Leo Winternitz from The Nature Conservancy; Monica Woods from News10; Rita Schmidt Sudman from the Water Education Foundation; and Liz Salmi from Greenwise. The first, second and third place videos were based on creativity, entertainment value, accuracy, originality and incorporation of the 2013 water efficiency message. We also want to thank all the people who voted for their favorite videos and determining the “People’s Choice” winner.
